Four-year-old Lucy’s imaginary friend Mr. Marmalade
doesn't have enough time for her. He has a personal assistant
to beat up, a cocaine addiction to nurse, and a plethora of
pornography to peruse. Larry, Lucy’s only real friend,
has problems of his own, owning the youngest suicide attempt
in the history of New Jersey. “Alternately hilarious
and heartbreaking,” says The New Yorker of Michigan
playwright Haidle’s script. Mr. Marmalade is a savage
black comedy about what it takes to grow up in a society rampant
with excess information.
