The Dead Eye
Boy by Angus MacLaughlin (Directed by Daniel Roth)
Shirley-Diane is a single mother trying to beat her
addiction into the past. Her 14-year-old son Soren, the self-confessed
“Dead Eye Boy”, is the constant reminder of how we pass
along all of our qualities, good and bad. When Shirley falls in love
with Billy, a man she met at a twelve-step meeting, she seems to have
found a partner in her fight. For Billy, Shirley-Diane is the opportunity
for companionship, and Soren, the chance for redemption. With a shaky,
but sincere manner, he reaches out to both as no one ever reached out
to him. All dimensions converge to a fierce ending that gives insight
into the portrait of a remarkable case study.
